Ancient Stories regarding Aset, called Isis in Greek.

It seems that most of the references to Aset's story date only back to Plutarch, although She appears in many hymns, stories, and inscriptions, far earlier.  Plutarch was a Greek priest of the Delphic Oracle. Living in Chaeronea, only a few miles away from Delphi,  Plutarch dedicated his work on Isis and Osiris to a woman who served as the priestess of Isis therein.

Plutarch lived long after Egypt had become a Roman province, about 45-125 ACE. Egypt by that time had become Hellenized and Romanized, and Aset had become Isis, Demeter, Aphrodite, and other goddesses unknown when Her name first appeared in the Pyramid Texts.

Before Isis, patroness of wedded fidelity and of maternal love, there was Aset, the Great of Magic, Healer of Poisonous Venoms, Shapeshifter, Daughter of Ra, and Guardian/Foreteller of the Royal Births. Her oldest stories can be found here.
